Whidbey Island/Oak Harbor Real Estate

Oak Harbor is Whidbey Island’s biggest city on the water. It is conveniently in the path the Olympic Rain Shadow, as a result Oak Harbor is blessed with less rainfall than Whidbey Island’s southern most end.

Starting out as a small rural farming community, Oak Harbor was settled around 1850. The town is named after the symbolistic Garry Oaks tree, which is a rare local tree that still grows in the historic parts of Oak Harbor.

A  big transformation started in 1935 as the Deception Pass Bridge was constructed thus linking Whidbey Island to Fidalgo Island. The famous bridge and over 4,000 acre State Park are one of the greatest scenic wonders of the Pacific Northwest.

A Decade later, the U.S. Navy constructed the Whidbey Island Naval Air Base nearby and continues to be a large contribution to this area and the growth of Oak Harbor and its surrounding real estate, homes, property, land, and condominiums.

You'll find beautiful waterfront homes for sale, property for sale, land for sale and more in and around the Oak Harbor area and surrounding Whidbey Island.
